Ayana Jade was commissioned to deliver a creative wellbeing workshop at the Happy Streets Festival, bringing together families, neighbours and visitors of different generations for an afternoon centred on colour, making and conversation.

Working with foliage, colour tones and simple craft techniques, participants explored how the calming qualities associated with jadeite colour and natural materials can encourage focus and creativity. Even the rain added to the atmosphere. What began as a workshop quickly became a relaxed gathering where people shared stories, experimented with techniques and left with something crafted by hand.
Experiences like this illustrate how design extends beyond objects. It shapes how people feel, connect and remember. At Ayana Jade, this thinking informs both our Jewellery collections, created using undyed jadeite (fei cui) jade and recycled precious metals, and our Education & Advisory work exploring circular design, materials awareness and responsible innovation.
When objects are designed with care and longevity in mind, they sit far outside the logic of waste. Creativity becomes not only expression, but a pathway to wellbeing and thoughtful design.
