Linda Achan’s selection for the Maker with a Mission residency at Makerversity, Somerset House was a meaningful recognition of the values and design approach behind Ayana Jade.

The residency sits naturally with how we work. Ayana Jade is an innovation-led design studio and applied sustainability venture. Through our Jewellery collections, we explore how premium products can be designed and made in the UK with longevity, circular thinking and material integrity in mind. Our pieces bring together undyed jadeite (fei cui) from a conflict-free single source mine with provenance and recycled precious metals, showing how mine-to-market thinking can be expressed through contemporary design.
Makerversity is a strong environment for that approach because it brings design, experimentation and enterprise into the same space. It supports the kind of work that tests ideas in practice, refines product thinking and keeps quality, durability and adaptability close to the design process.
That same real-world application also underpins our Education & Advisory work. Through digital education and advisory, we help organisations turn materials, provenance, circular design and product strategy into stronger commercial positioning, more credible claims and innovation capability grounded in evidence.
For Ayana Jade, quality, proof and purpose do not sit in separate boxes. They strengthen one another. That is true in Jewellery and equally true in how we support organisations seeking practical approaches to responsible innovation.
